Latest News : November 2005

November 29th, 2005

Hey Everybody,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving or to those of you outside the U.S., a Happy Thursday! I wanted to email you about my film and let you know the latest word from the front lines. So we didn’t quite raise all the money we needed to get the film done by December. We are still $5,000 away from what we need, but hopefully you guys can get the word out and we can get that extra $5,000 soon. The production is now scheduled to begin either January 7th or 14th, depending on the money situation. Although we were upset about not making our start date, it wasn’t that big of a loss because there were some things we were going to have to rush if we were to make it by December. We still didn’t have a camera package or a few locations, and there were some crew positions that needed to be filled. Now we will have enough time to do everything the the right way.

So that’s the bad news. The good news, however, is that David Strathairn, star of "Goodnight and Good Luck" and more importantly to my fans, my father in "The River Wild" and "Simon Birch", has agreed to act in my film. Having David in my movie is an amazing, amazing thing. Not only is he the early pick to win the Best Actor Oscar for "Goodnight and Good Luck", he is also one of the best actors in this business. He’s certainly one of the best people. I love working with him, and I’m the luckiest guy in the world to have such a talent in my movie. More good news... Daniel Gillies, who played John Jameson in "Spider-Man 2", also said he would be in my movie. This guys is going to be a star, and he is one of the most talented actors I have ever worked with. I just spent three weeks with him shooting "The Sensation of Sight", and I can’t wait to work with him again. Hopefully I will have more big news on the casting front in the next week. I will keep you posted as soon as I find out.

I think that's all for now. We got a really great cast coming together, and I can’t wait to start the filming. If you haven’t contributed yet, I urge you to click on "You Can Help" above and see if any contribution category is appealing to you. And, if you have already contributed but feel like you might be able to help some more, I would appreciate it greatly. We have raised a lot of money, and I am overwhelmed with the support I have received for this project. You are all amazing fans, and I am very lucky to have you. Thank you for all your encouragement. Remember you can email us with questions at molad-info@mazzello.com, and remember there is NO DEADLINE for contributions, but of course the SOONER the BETTER. Thanks everybody! I’ll email you again soon.

Joe
